I wasn't home last night, so this blog runs from yesterday to today.
Friday, 12/16:
Yesterday, we had a late start at school, so of course, I stopped at Starbucks on my way there. As I was standing in line, two seniors from school walked in, both of whom I recognised. I saw one of them, and thought to myself, "Oh, he got cast as Aladdin in the play." Which reminded me, I didn't get cast at all.
Anyways, after dealing with the retarded baristas, I got my Venti three pack Refresh tea, and headed to school. My first class was Art of Film, which was lucky because we're allowed to eat and drink in that class and I wasn't halfway done with my drink. The people around me got pissed because they thought it smelled bad, which is bullshit because it's spearemint.
Anyways, next I had Computer Apps., and when I got there my teacher told me I had a note. This is not uncommon, but when he gave it to me I felt upset because I realized it was from the Drama Department. They always send "Thanks for trying out" letters, and I almost didn't read it. I did, however, and I was pleasantly surprised.
It was a letter saying that they had to do some recasting, and because they had decided I was First Male Alternate, they wanted to offer me a position in the Male Ensemble. This is like extras, and includes palace guards, citizens, genie assistants, tap-dancing lunatics, etc.
I was so excited, but then I realized that although the envelope said Neil Clark on it, the letter said, "Dear Nick,." I freaked out, and wondered whether it was for me or someone else.
I then spent my break looking for the right people to ask, but I couldn't find them. Finally, after enduring the rest of the day, I found Mrs. McGwire and she informed me that it was a typo and was truly intended for me. I was happy, and gladly took the part. The only problem is I don't know how this is going to fit in with work and swimming.
Anyways, when I finally got off work at 11:40, I headed home, changed, and headed to the swim club because we were celebrating my friend Matt's 18th brithday with a club sleep-over.
Saturday, 12/17:
When I got there, a game of Sardines was in full sway. We continued to play that for a few rounds, then we went and put our feet in the hot tub.
While around the hot tub, we had lots of discussions. One of them was about we were afraid of. We remembered the Nickelodeon show "Are You Afriad of the Dark?" Now, I've always remembered this show, and even though I swim, I oftentimes get freaked out by pools because of an episode I saw involving a school pool. I learned that night that another one of my friends also remembered this episode, and we commiserated together.
Eventually we ended up exercising on the treadmills, playing Butts Up in the racquet ball court, and talking about throwing up while rolling around on those exercise balls. The puke conversation was kind of gross, but it's always fun to talk about spewing chunks.
Finally, at about four A.M. we went to sleep on yoga mats. I think we woke up around 9 or 10, and then layed there until eleven. We all knew it was time to go at the same time, and parted ways.
Today I told my parents I was studying Chemistry for my final on Monday. In actuality I was reading Harry Potter 6. Which I guess is kind of like Chemisty because of all the potions.
At around 6:00, I decided I'm close to death. My head hurts like shit, I've been coughing non-stop, and I keep on getting chills. And to make matters worse, I found out yesterday the kid with whooping cough was in my math class, and he had it for three weeks before he realized it.
